AN IC MEME!
I BRING YOU. From Eddie's suggestion post, as he's had no objection (as yet, but wips)!
The Wall of the Departed
1. Anon is enabled, because it can be anonymous IC. That being said, anyone abusing this in an ooc manner will just be screened and/or removed by me. If I screened/deleted your post by mistake, come poke me on IM (that's voltaireontoast). I won't be angry, just explain why I did.
2. Eddie will be removing anything IC offensive as soon as he can. This won't be deleted, just commented underneath as to why/when he did it. Eddie will not be sat next to this board, so these replies can be seen whilst they're up.
3. If you want to remove/graffiti/add comments onto cards left, just comment underneath. Remember these are cue card size. No long tracts. If you want to steal a card, stick it in a comment.
4. You can use character journals to stick one up too - all cards will be presumed to be anonymous unless signed with a name.
5. So basic format goes: Comment with/without journal, write in subject who the card's about, write what your character would write in comment, sign/do not sign with characters' name.
6. This board, IC, has been left up in a spare space in the dining hall. It has magnets, not drawing pins/staples, as Eddie thought about you, Arthas. XP There's a small table with a pen and little cue cards on. Eddie is now short a table. Feel free to have seen him setting it up/moderating it. If you asked to be told when he's done it? Presume he did. :D
7. Finalmente, this post is a floaty floating post, so please come back and use whenever your character feels like it.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-06 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)You were used towards so many's own ends, to our selfish whims and wishes, even in the pretence of something greater, even in the pretence of submission to a greater will, you were used. Your generosity and optimism would be your weakness, what brought you down upon the rocks of men who had nothing but self-resentment to exercise upon you. Exploitation, perhaps. You gave trust a chance with the wrong people, but never stopped trying.
That isn't the admirable thing. Everyone could see that you were relentlessly nice, relentlessly hopeful. Very few really saw how much repression, how much self-discipline that took, or why you must do it. I didn't know why until it struck, all at once. I was probably one of those things you repressed, I don't doubt it, and one of those things which pushed you towards a crumbling edge. Your attachments, again, were your downfall, but in an entirely different manner. You cannot be hurt by the words of someone whose words are worthless to you.
[THERE IS ANOTHER CARD STUCK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST]
But in the end, you had immense power. At your very fingertips. You could re-write memory. You could damn us all to... wherever this ship may sink. To be broken upon the waves of the universe. But the power had power over you, you were a slave to it as much as it followed your command. Yet, you still rejected it. You still submitted and surrendered individual power - power which could have made you a God. Power which was nothing but an illusion, an enslavement of it own devising.
You always had potential, Svetlana, but as long as I bear my failure to you, I am relieved for it. It's the lies you tell yourself that crush you.
