1.1.01.01.001: due regard for the well being of others.

[There is an awkward, stiff cough, and a shot of the eighth floor common room. A young, very smartly dressed, man appears on screen, and he straightens his tie, then offers a small wave,]

Hello!

This remote viewer is tiny, and... well, I never thought a remote viewer could watch you. Fascinating! [He grins, a touch nervously,] So if you're watching, hello! oh, I already said that...

I'm Edward Russett, but you can call me Eddie. I'm not quite sure whether this is the equivalent of Useful Work or a Pointless Task, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

Who are the local Prefects? What're they like? I imagine I'll be the Red Prefect here.

[awkward pause whilst he ponders whether to ask or not, then he directs the camera to a lightbulb nearby]

This is going to sound silly, but can I have some lightglobes? There's no natural light in my room. I... [slight nervous intake of breath. Dammit, night terrors.] I need a source of light.

Then what does your name mean?
strangehistorian: (the hero)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's just a nickname. You're the second one to ask me this today...
strangehistorian: (the clever)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Another newcomer! Jane I believe was her name.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that'd explain it.

We're from the same place.
strangehistorian: (the confused D:)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh~

What would my name mean, there?

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, everyone's name in my world is a reference to the colour they are - my last name is Russett because I'm a Red, for example.

But we call ourselves - those of us that can see colour - Chromatics, and there's several other terms that come from it. So your name's a little odd. [suspicious.]
strangehistorian: (wyrmrest)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Chromatic means something very different where I'm from. Red, too.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
What does it mean where you're from?
strangehistorian: (the timetouched)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a ... rogue group of dragons. They're normally sorted by body color - so. Red, Green, et cetera.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Are some colours considered above others?
strangehistorian: (the clever)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. Each color tends to think it's the most important secretly, I think. But they were designed as equals.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Are there any... Grey dragons?
strangehistorian: (the helpful)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine there are, but they would fall under the Black group.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
And are they... inferior in any way?
strangehistorian: (the bronze)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Audible intake of breath as she hesitates.]

The Black flight are prone to... madness. It is the fault of their leader.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
So they all have different traits?

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
What are the Yellow dragons like?
strangehistorian: (the curious)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Closed-off and antisocial, generally.

[Yeah, Chromie's the anomaly.]

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Not bossy and controlling, then?
strangehistorian: (the clever)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Not outside their flight.

Why?

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Just making some comparisons.
strangehistorian: (the helpful)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-04-08 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Giggle.]

Well, the Red flight on my world is easily the friendliest. It's the color most mortals usually picture when dragons are brought up.

[identity profile] needshumility.livejournal.com 2011-04-08 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Do the Reds hate the Greens?
