It's partly that. But there's something....bigger as well, though.
This is the way I see it in my situation. Because magic's been outlawed, the only time people really see sorcerers any more is when they're attacking Camelot or trying to kill the king. But when his son becomes king, then he needs to know that I have been by his side for all that time, using magic to protect him, even if I've had to do it in secret and risk my neck for it every time. He has to know that there isn't anything evil at heart about everyone with magic, that it can be used for great good.
So I suppose that I'm hiding who I am for the sake of changing society in the future. Not just being a part of it now.
