Yes. The ability of the human mind to adjust to damn near anything is a tool that's very prone to abuse.

I liked Tommy. I think he'd have been good for the right inmate. It's a pity we'll never know.

Atia wants to be. There was a man here named Clapet who took a stab at homemade alcohol, but that ended poorly. I think there are more people jockeying for position in that role than actually filling it.

Sometimes people will smuggle things back from ports. Or they might get their hands on some of the cleaning supplies, for instance—although that hasn't happened in a good long while, knock on wood.

Don't their wardens check what they're bringing back? I made sure everything Victor had brought back was safe - admittedly, he's more honest than some, but... you'd have to check, surely?
